Friday franctic

Afraid of see what next Friday will be.

Usually we were the ones who saw sad teary faces of those school leavers and their family.

How we were the ones who witness friends hugging the leavers . And how moms also hugs their friends for the last time in school.

So comes this Friday , me and my kids will be trading our places as leavers of BSJ.

I do know for sure how it will turn up my Year 9 daughters. Deep down inside I am dreading that teary scene.

As for Aisyah my girl in Year 5 and she is just 9, she may cry at pick up or in a car. This too I just don't know what should I do or say..

And as for my 7 year old girl Alya , she might be indifferent to this..but she will join Aisyah in crying later.

And me ? Well , I wish I don't have to cry..for I wish to be the strongest one to support and hug my kids in that last bye bye moments ..

Arts and crafts and play

One day Alya came home with this white cone decorated with different colors and shapes.

I didn't pay much noticed to it..thinking it was just another crafts from her...how they always have it in school .

But my views changed the minute I noticed that she was learning new words of shapes and colors just by doing that simple cone...how I easily forgets that that is how the school teaches them in class.

For the Foundation Stage at BSJ , they school uses EYFS. It involves a lot of arts and crafts and play and also lots of teachers observation too..

Yeah, the teacher do that so that they can help each child in their own special needs and developments. And we got this from the terms reports.

Lucky me

One of my blessings in life is sending my beautiful 3 girls to school. This are among a few things that my hubby wished he could do or trade place with me.

This photo was shot during one of those mornings. I was walking behind them when the sight of them just snapped me off and what a fantastic shot this will be .

So I stop walking and gave a a bit distance to capture this special moments that I get to be in every single day .

Even know when I look back at this photo, the warm fuzzy feelings just surround me.

Oh yes ! How they all have grown up during this last 4 years of our living in Jakarta.

The most overwhelming thing about this photo is seeing Alya going to school with her two big loving sisters.

Before this, she was the one who send the two big sisters to school. And fetching them home from school with me.

But since August 2015 this year, it is she being accompanied and send to school especially by Arissa. Her Kak Arissa just love walking her up to her class and see her putting up her lunch bag , communication bag and water bottle in place .

While I will be walking up with Aisyah to her class. Once Aisyah is done unpacking her stuffs in her class, do we go and see Alya again. Kisses and hugs for Alya before we say goodbye to her.

Next it will be kisses and hugs to Aisyah who next will be running to join her friends .

And that left me and Arissa for that much precious walk of only me and her. How she loves our special morning walk to her class waiting area .

All this make my friends saying how they seldom see me at school anymore in the morning...

Well my morning routine has change because of my 3 lovely girls..

Diaperless

Alhamdulillah. Without expecting that Alya could pee pee in the toilet for the first time, today she did it.

I have not been able to train her to pee pee in toilet even for continous 2 days.. Never had the time or chance and were always busy with my daily routines... the most that i had been able to do with her was to let her wear panty for lest than 2 hours..

As usual I will remind her how to tell and feel that her urine is about to comeout.. And voila! Today she managed to feel and experience it..

Alhamdulillah.. she pee pee in the toilet twice today...

And with poo poo, she has nailed it at faster rate than pee pee..

Insya Allah, she will be ready diaperless to school when school reopens in mid August..

Alya at 2 years old and 8 months

Thesedays I find her easily keeping herself occupied and entertained. I will see her reading outloud to herself. She will picked up a book and straight doing a book reading . Of course she cant read yet. But she will make up her own story. She may get one or two words right . I think this happened as she remembers what was read to her on each pages of the storybook.

I find it amusing and it reminds me of how Aisyah used to be when she was at this age like Alya. It is so identical. I still have Aisyah's video on this act.

Another thing that Alya loves doing is singing. The songs can be from twinkle little star , baba black sheep to wrecking balls, frozen's soundtrack song, or maroon five songs , any current hit songs that we hear in the car..

That's what you get when you have 2 big sisters aged 9 and 5 that like singing and do thier own small stage performance when at home..And not forgetting singing in the car..

Anyhow, I think I need to get some surah cd ... just to balance things out..

My ever loyal companion

She came to Jakarta when she was 3 months old. And eversince that day we arrived here and eversince her eldest sister started schooling, Alya has been that part of sending and picking up her sisters to/fro school.

She has become that familiar faces that everyone sees in school. From students, teachers and the regular mommies that we always bump into from monday to Friday.

How time flies.

Alhamdulillah she is grown much more especially after that major operation done last year.

The big nite

Its the nite before tomorrow.

Its the nite that were supposed to happen two weeks ago on July 2nd 2013. But it did not happen as Alya was not well.

Tonight there is only Alya and me in this hospital ward. Baba, Tuk Mi , Kak Arissa and Kak Aisyah came around 845 pm to see us.

As usual , two girls were sad that they have to sleep without me tonight.

As for me, i know they can accept the reason eventhough they are sad.

But tonight, I am worried . And the next best thing for me to do after doing my solat hajat and my doa's is to leave it to Him. ALLAH knows best.

I doa that Alya stays well before and after the operation tomorrow.

I doa that all the doctors and staffs involved in tomorrow operation will be able to perform their work well and safely and carefully for the sake of my Alya.

Amin

this moment

There are three of us now lying on the mattress on the floor. Arissa is missing as she is spending the night at my abang's house.

I know for sure that night like this will soon past.

Kids grow up fast . I noticed that in Arissa  and Aisyah. How school in Jakarta has had shaped their growth within less than 2 years.

Gonna miss nights like these when I am an old woman .

Baba less

its a public holidays here as its israk and mikraj day.. Thus school is off and so is tomorrow. Somehow the school is giving extra holidays to the children.

As the house is lonely without a man of the house ie my hubby , and no supir  to drive us around ( I was lazy to ask him to come to work and hate the idea of having to pay him double of the amount of his daily salary) , today is spent at home only.

I had today's itinery mapped out last night. This to keep the girls occupied. Alhamdulillah half of it went out well except one plan failed to materialized.

Woke up early to cook the nasi lemak . My maid helped me to cook the rest.  After that, the girls played together . Aisyah with her play dough while kakak helped her out.

Soon it was nappy time for Alya. Aisyah was already asking when can we make the iced lollies. All because she wasnt interested in wacthing the telly like her big sister. Told her that it will be after i put alya to sleep first.

By the time Alya was asleep, my two A's was upstairs in Aisyah's room. Glad that kakak kept to her tv's time limit . Found both of my girls busy making crafts on the floor with nice cooling wind breezying through the opened balcony doors.  It wasnt long  before Aisyah started reminding me to make iced lollies..heheh

After done with iced lollies, it was painting time with them...Alya was up from her nap by then. Allhamdulillah, this coloring activities really engaged them until lunch time. In fact I fed them lunch while they were still enjoying doing it.

One plan that we didnt get to.do was swimming. The pool was just behind our house. The girls were so upset and dissappointed that the pool water was dirty with dead leaves and insects.

Aisyah was the most upset one  as she was crying and couldnt stop voicing out her dissappointment while walking back to our house from the pool.

Infact, she and kakak cried once we were in our house. I pity them as they had been looking forward to it since morning. How we prayed for a good weather that evening and it was a cooling weather indeed . Ideal for a nice swimm in the evening as it wasnt sunny.

To compensate it, I allowed them to have a pool bath in the bath tub..alhamdulillah the smiles were there after the pool bath.

The last itinery of the day was movie night. I joined them watching again the repeated vcd of the 12th princesses.  Dinner was Dominos pizza treat. And some Tuc biscuits too. Even Alya was enjoying the pizza minus the pepperoni .

Alhamdulillah. They are all fast asleep now.

Tomorrow is another babaless day...how i hate being mommy alone this week...how i wish we are in singapore with baba...

Lesson on life No.1

Amin. Amin .

Alya @ 17th months old

At 17 th months old, she is no longer wanting to breastfeed or even drinking my milk.

She has completely graduated and weaned herself from breastfeeding.

And for the past 3 nights in a row, she is slowly developing her own sleeping routine.  She will sit down with her back lowered a bit and rested on a pillow next to me on bed. She will be holding the milk bottle with her two hands. The minute she is about to doze off will also means that she has finished her milk.

She will passed the bottle to me. And immediately rest her head flat on my tummy.

Hemm.... Allah Maha Kaya. I am amazed and still cant believe to witness all this happening right in front of me . Coming from a my barely 2 years old girl. Yeah! Something good is instore for me. Alhamdulillah.

Thesedays also she will say "dah" meaning she is done drinking her milk in the bottle. You can see how her small hands handing out to me the empty bottle.

Alhamdulillah also she is beginning to drink milk more thesedays.  But I have to quickly decide either to continue with enfagrow made in malaysia which i still have 3 tins more or do  I switch to local milk brand ? The biggest hurdle will be to find milk that is original in flavour ie no honey or vanilla or chocolate flavour. And  here in Jakarta they dislikes original flavour for toddler milk powder. How cow?

Weaning time yet?

Has the time come? Is she really weaning off from my breastmilk?

Alya is like slowly weaning herself from breastfeeding. I am still thinking that she is stopping  now because of her hfmd that she got last sunday.

And that her sore throat and teething too is just making breastfeeding painful for her.

Other mommies had to crack their heads to find solution to weaning. While me , its like so unwelcome and unexpected.

Ye la...because Alya is not even 2 years old yet. She will turn 17 months in the next couples of days. My plan is to wean her at the age of 20 months old. Its 3 months early.

Dont know how to react to this ...

End of Term1 Year3

Today is the last day for term 1 year 3.

Gosh! How time fly so fast  that i wonder have i make full use of the time i have ? Not only for the benefit of me but more important for the benefit and wellbeing of my children.

And i have been on my own without maid to help me for these past months ie since early October precisely.

My baby Alya have been my loyal companion since our last maid gone MIA. I can only pray to Him to make sure Alya is healthy . Its tiring for a 14 months old baby to follow her mom every where.

To school. To pasar moderan ie wet market. To Giant or Lotte mart. To school again. To the 'mpsj' to pay for abudeman. Every where la this baby has to follow me. I will be babywearing her ! Time to get a new one.

And each day from monday to friday, i will be rushing home after sending my two girls to school. Yeah! My 3 year and 4 months old girl has been in preschool since last August. And alhamdulillah. She is really looking forward and excited to go to school each day . In fact she will be sad if it is friday.

Ok.so why am i rushing back home? Well to make sure Alya have her morning nap. Actually by 8 am she will be sending out signals how sleepy she is. Those pulling hair, rubbing her eyes and yawning. And off she goes to la la land when i breastfeed her.

We all know how important it is for babies to have a routine each day. So for Alya, her nap can be from 8 am onwards until 1130 am. Of course she will wake up in between . Just to see if i am there next to her. Most of the time she will go back to sleep after i feed her again. Nice huh to sleep with a fulled tummy!

By 1145 am we ie Alya and mama dearest will be in on our way to school to pick up kak Aisyah. Her school ends at 12 am . Lunch is always at the Rainbow cafe. Big sister Kak Arissa will join us there as her lunch is from 1205 -1250 . Sometimes Aisyah gets to eat with her best friend Sara Mcleod. I just have to put her full name here coz it so old english name !!!

By 1 pm, we ie me ,Alya and Aisyah will head home which is only 5 minutes away from school. Once home, I will be rushing to have Aisyah bath, wash her snack box, and cook for dinner or pack my hubby dinner box before Alya start giving her nap signals!!!!

Most of the times, Aisyah will be sleepy by the time we reach home. So that is why i have to plan my time so that she can have her nap  before we have to leave our house by 215 pm to pick up big sister Kak Arissa from school.

So packed huh my daily monday to friday life right?

I pity my girls when i have to wake them up from their afternoon nap. There are good day and bad day too. Either Aisyah wakes up crying or just to sleepy to get up for having mama to interrupt her nap.

Arissa's class ends at 240 pm daily. But twice a week it will ends at 340 pm as she goes for her after school activities.

And we will be rushing to get home too. All because so that my supir will have enough time to reach girls' baba's office by 5 pm. In this land of macetness, we have to factor in the macetness in our daily life. Though the distant is only 25km from our house to my husband's office , but it can be a one and half hour journey or two hours journey!!!!! Only on Sunday you can have a 30 minutes journey ..

Back to my story after picking up my eldest. Once home, i either cook my second dish or only one main dish ie western dish . But all these will depends on how Alya is..If she is sleepy , then i will quickly bath her and feed her early dinner. Bath time is always together with Aisyah...easy but not so easy . Alya will be in her baby bath tub. Her tub is inside the big tub. So most of the time she will be trying to get out from her  tub and into the big tub. You will see her trying to bath her big sister who is just there in the big tub..this moments is priceless.  Both girls just enjoy each other company.

Next, all dress up in jammies. Arissa will be doing her homework which is only 3 sets in one week. Dinner have to be something easy to prepare. If not, i will have cooked it in the morning. All because Arissa will be asking for my help with her home work. And also i want to help her . These moments are more important than fixing dinner time...

And Aisyah will be asking me to read to her too..thus i need  time for this and not to be stucked in the kicthen preparing dinner. Not only that, Alya seems to eat more when i sit down and feed her.. Rather than having mama to feed her inbetween cooking!!! And even though arissa and aisyah can feed her, alya still prefers mama!!!

On dishes, there are days when i do quiche, baked pasta , grilling . Just imagine when i need to cook for breakfast and the kids' snack and lunch dishes too..not forgetting alya food too..which is why i am slowly exposing her to my main dish.  basically she is slowly eating the same food that i cook for her big sisters n baba too..

And that is how i end up my term1 year 3 life so far...

Me no superwoman. Just a normal woman who has to do what she has to do for the benefits of her children and family.

And yeah!!!! I will be sleeping in my own bed tomorrow night! Home sweet home malaysia!!!!

Yogurt pancake

I made for Alya her first pancake today . Sans the egg as she is allergic to white egg. Took a glance at Annabell's recipe and just made my own measurement as i only have little flour ! Just realised there were no stock of it left ..

Guess what? The yogurt that was the only different ingredient that never use in making pancake , made the pancake softer than normal.

I have used buttermilk when making pancakes. It does give the pancake a fluffy texture.

Well, will definitely be using more yogurt in my next pancake batter.

By the way, Alhamdulillah. Alya loves her fluffy pancakes.

One year old

Today is my youngest child's birthday.

My Alya is one year old today.

Tuk Umi was here with us .

We were in Gandaria City Mall.

Arissa and Aisyah went to Lollipop with Baba. While Mama and Tuk Umi together with Alya went for tea.

At one year old she will hold strongly to what is in her hand. Alya wont let go . The sharing concept is still new to her. InsyaAllah she will understand "that sharing is caring"!

And again she is little bit under the weather. Had slightly fever since early this week. And flu too.

Thesedays you can almost understand her baby talk. That you can make out what she is saying. And she is talking n calling to her sisters. And how Alya easily laugh at Aisyah's tactics.

Alya is lucky to have her two funny sisters. My eldest likes to make funny dance and sounds ..while my second girl is always the lucu bangat one.

Currently mama is trying to make alya gain more weight. So thesedays alya's food is more aromatic and flavour too compared to aisyah's baby food . Same recipes but mama tweak or modify it a bit. All after she read about making baby food more flavour  than before.

And now just as we say good night, i have only one wish for Alya. May her pda condition improved with hole slowly closing up. Amin.

My PDA baby

Alya is a P.D.A baby since birth. May it will close eventually .The sooner the better. Amin.

Even after birth, she does not have the signs of a PDA baby. She feeds normally . She breathes normally too. Thus, even the nurses at the Special Nursery centre where she was warded for jaundice were surprised to find out that she is having PDA.

Even until today, I am so thankful to Allah that it was  Dr Azizi who detected this  on Alya. Even though he did not hear it during Alya's first few days of her life, I am still thankful that it was detected during her stays at DSH.

Any doctors stand a chance of not being able to hear the echoes or murmur in the baby's heart. This is because one needs to be able to listen to it deeply & focus. One can not blame the doctor for failing to detect it in the first place because of our hearing capabilities. Only an person with sharp hearing would be able to detect it . Which is why for some baby, this condition will go unnoticed until sign of illnesses crop up later in the future. So don't be curious why doctors will check your baby's heart on each hospital or clinic visits.

And I am comforted by the fact that Alya's progress is being monitored and assessed by one of Malaysian most qualified doctor in that field..

How I wanted to break down & cry my heart out again when we went for the 2nd visit .. The 3mm hole is still there. Somehow a part of me told me to seek out more information on Alya's condition from Dr Zul . And I am glad that those information comforted me 99% . And that 1% of worry will be there until we see Dr Zul again in Feb 2012.

As for the moment, we are monitoring Alya's health based on the information we learned from Dr Zul on PDA baby.

Allah Maha Mengetahui

I can still remember what my bidan urut told me 2 years ago when she was massaging my body during my confinement days in Seremban. And so are what other old people were saying about my next/3rd child's gender. They all said that if i ever give birth next , meaning 3rd time pregnant, then my 3rd child will be a boy.. They said this based on what they saw at my 2nd child's thigh.. I can only smile at that time upon hearing their views. It's hard for me to believe it as all i know that might not be true.

So here we are 2 years from that day.Allah Maha Mengetahui. Me and my husband got a beautiful baby girl this time. She looks more  like her eldest sister Arissa. They have the same nose and same skin complexion. As for the eyes, Alya got the same big lovely black eyes like her 2nd sister Aisyah.

Back to what my tukang urut said two years ago.. Even towards the end of my pregnancy, I was only 99% sure that it will be a baby girl. Even as my gynea had confirmed  the baby's gender via scan, i was still 99% . I hate to be so 100% confident on my baby's gender. Not that I was hoping to get a boy .

But more of Him. Because in the end , He knows what is best for us. For me , the most important aspect is the baby's health and physical.

I guess I know why people have a strong views on why i was carrying a baby boy.  As usual, my tummy always look like i was carrying a baby boy inside of me. So were my two previous pregnancy. In fact , one indian grandma who i always see at the park said the same thing about my baby's gender.. I replied back by saying it that my tummy always look like that when i am pregnant. And that the doctor said it is a girl..But they couldn't believe it due to my tummy ..hehhehe..old wives's tale!
