Late or Early , Who cares!

Is a big deal if your child starts talking earlier than expected? Or can walk before the average age of walking? For me, all these things are not important so long as my child has a good physical & mental development that is not on the alarming stage. That is why I feel irritated when people like to make comparison between his/her child development with mine. More irritated when they boast how fast their children can speak or walk when theirs was at the same age of your child.

I am thankful that so far my child started walking & talking earlier than the average age a child is. In fact, me & husband are surprised when she can comprehend what we said to her.. There were times when I wish she wouldn't grow up so fast as I want to savour every minutes of her growing up.
But, then again, time and again I reminded myself to be thankful for all these things as there are some parents out there who are not so lucky as me.

So, if your child is a late bloomer, just be happy & thankful that you have a child that is healthy & well.

Hey there!
Yup, I totally understand how annoyed and irritated you can get when people comment on your child's development. It's true! People DO do that, kan? All the comparing. It's like this big race, and it's no wonder society is so 'kiasu'. Parents start comparing and pushing their kids from infancy! Shame on them parents.

My Z was considered slow in speaking properly (ie: sans pelat). But, now he's so chatty, I long for the bit of quiet-time pulak! Haha. And all that time when only myself and the hubs could understand our Z, there were all those annoying (and s'times hurtful too!) remarks coming our way as to the 'slowness' of our child. It's not that he's dumb! Ish! Teruk kan?

Nvmd.... no that I too, know how it feels to be bombarded by such remarks.

Yes! I know exactly how you feel... Aidan's kinda late bloomer in meniarap, so ppl always say to me that he is a bit slow. But i thing i notice about him he is such a chatter... Anyway like you, i don't care if he talks or walk a bit later than other babies as long as he is fine and healthy.

Btw thank you for your kind word, really app it...

p/s: Nice blog!
