Friday franctic

Afraid of see what next Friday will be.

Usually we were the ones who saw sad teary faces of those school leavers and their family.

How we were the ones who witness friends hugging the leavers . And how moms also hugs their friends for the last time in school.

So comes this Friday , me and my kids will be trading our places as leavers of BSJ.

I do know for sure how it will turn up my Year 9 daughters. Deep down inside I am dreading that teary scene.

As for Aisyah my girl in Year 5 and she is just 9, she may cry at pick up or in a car. This too I just don't know what should I do or say..

And as for my 7 year old girl Alya , she might be indifferent to this..but she will join Aisyah in crying later.

And me ? Well , I wish I don't have to cry..for I wish to be the strongest one to support and hug my kids in that last bye bye moments ..

Lucky me

One of my blessings in life is sending my beautiful 3 girls to school. This are among a few things that my hubby wished he could do or trade place with me.

This photo was shot during one of those mornings. I was walking behind them when the sight of them just snapped me off and what a fantastic shot this will be .

So I stop walking and gave a a bit distance to capture this special moments that I get to be in every single day .

Even know when I look back at this photo, the warm fuzzy feelings just surround me.

Oh yes ! How they all have grown up during this last 4 years of our living in Jakarta.

The most overwhelming thing about this photo is seeing Alya going to school with her two big loving sisters.

Before this, she was the one who send the two big sisters to school. And fetching them home from school with me.

But since August 2015 this year, it is she being accompanied and send to school especially by Arissa. Her Kak Arissa just love walking her up to her class and see her putting up her lunch bag , communication bag and water bottle in place .

While I will be walking up with Aisyah to her class. Once Aisyah is done unpacking her stuffs in her class, do we go and see Alya again. Kisses and hugs for Alya before we say goodbye to her.

Next it will be kisses and hugs to Aisyah who next will be running to join her friends .

And that left me and Arissa for that much precious walk of only me and her. How she loves our special morning walk to her class waiting area .

All this make my friends saying how they seldom see me at school anymore in the morning...

Well my morning routine has change because of my 3 lovely girls..

Our 3rd ramadan

Actually it's the 2nd ramadan that I am here fasting. This is because last year me and the girls fast in kinrara as Alya had her operation.

Nevertheless, Alhamdulillah me and my girls get to fast with their baba.

And being away from malaysia especially during this ramadan, it also means no bazar ramadan for us..huhu..

It's not like I didnt cooked at all . I still have to cook dishes for sahur. Arissa eat nasi and lauk for sahur and buka puasa. Which is good for her so that she wont be weak ..

As for me and hubby, we like to eat none of that nasi and lauk for buka puasa..

So since there is no bazar ramadan here, I have as the CEO of the kitchen, needs to cook what ever dishes we are craving...

Thank goodness, I can get kueh buah melaka or kelompang, ketayap or kueh koci from my pasar moderan...

Alhamdulillah also, even though we dont have air mata kucing and all those endless colourfull drinks ( actually I only like buying air kelapa muda and mata kucing) , we like jus mentimun and air buah blewah...it's as refreshing as our air kelapa muda too.. here, one needs to be carefull when buying air kelapa muda from the street. Hygiene matters..

Ops...need to pick up my two big A's from school..

Alhamdulillah. Arissa is still fasting..

Closure of 2013-2014 academic year

"Please do keep in touch.  Good

luck next year, the children will fly,

and if you are moving, good luck with the move, an exciting but

stressful time I know.  Once it all settles we will all look back at

this year and cannot help but smile and laugh at all the memorable

moments that made up this year."

This was taken from Aisyah's teacher's email Ms Jeanette Sy.  The last sentence was hit me hard that it's like reading a novel or like it came from a movie.

I hate last day of school. I hate hearing and knowing people that I always see each day at school leaving for another country.  I just dont like it.

And today, it hit me really hard that my eyes were wet suddenly when I said and hug farewell to Aisyah's teacher. It was so over whelming.

Maybe because she had been a very passionate and dedicated teacher. I saw how Aisyah made amazing development in her learnings and also social skills.

Imagine one teacher having the responsibility to teach 20 students reading skills using phonetic ..It's one tough job in making the kids to sit down and stay in focus and attention in reading.

Early this year we were amazed when we see Aisyah can read. And the progress she made was so amazing. Alhamdulillah.

Another thing that amazed me when it comes to education system at BIS FOundation Stage is the 1-1 teaching concept.

This I noticed whenever I am at Aisyah's class. Be it morning before the class starts at 8 am or during school time, I noticed how Ms Sy was always with a kid teaching using 1-1 concept.

Back to the last day, as usual we see people leaving.

This time, Arissa's Year 4B class teacher  Mr Simon Leask and her Year 3 class teacher Ms Emma Russell is leaving BIS.

As for her classmate, Joe Sandham is leaving to Singapore.

Same for Aisyah too.  She will be missed her classmates Sofia and Sophie Young and Marko too..

Hemm... :(

this moment

There are three of us now lying on the mattress on the floor. Arissa is missing as she is spending the night at my abang's house.

I know for sure that night like this will soon past.

Kids grow up fast . I noticed that in Arissa  and Aisyah. How school in Jakarta has had shaped their growth within less than 2 years.

Gonna miss nights like these when I am an old woman .

Baba less

its a public holidays here as its israk and mikraj day.. Thus school is off and so is tomorrow. Somehow the school is giving extra holidays to the children.

As the house is lonely without a man of the house ie my hubby , and no supir  to drive us around ( I was lazy to ask him to come to work and hate the idea of having to pay him double of the amount of his daily salary) , today is spent at home only.

I had today's itinery mapped out last night. This to keep the girls occupied. Alhamdulillah half of it went out well except one plan failed to materialized.

Woke up early to cook the nasi lemak . My maid helped me to cook the rest.  After that, the girls played together . Aisyah with her play dough while kakak helped her out.

Soon it was nappy time for Alya. Aisyah was already asking when can we make the iced lollies. All because she wasnt interested in wacthing the telly like her big sister. Told her that it will be after i put alya to sleep first.

By the time Alya was asleep, my two A's was upstairs in Aisyah's room. Glad that kakak kept to her tv's time limit . Found both of my girls busy making crafts on the floor with nice cooling wind breezying through the opened balcony doors.  It wasnt long  before Aisyah started reminding me to make iced lollies..heheh

After done with iced lollies, it was painting time with them...Alya was up from her nap by then. Allhamdulillah, this coloring activities really engaged them until lunch time. In fact I fed them lunch while they were still enjoying doing it.

One plan that we didnt get to.do was swimming. The pool was just behind our house. The girls were so upset and dissappointed that the pool water was dirty with dead leaves and insects.

Aisyah was the most upset one  as she was crying and couldnt stop voicing out her dissappointment while walking back to our house from the pool.

Infact, she and kakak cried once we were in our house. I pity them as they had been looking forward to it since morning. How we prayed for a good weather that evening and it was a cooling weather indeed . Ideal for a nice swimm in the evening as it wasnt sunny.

To compensate it, I allowed them to have a pool bath in the bath tub..alhamdulillah the smiles were there after the pool bath.

The last itinery of the day was movie night. I joined them watching again the repeated vcd of the 12th princesses.  Dinner was Dominos pizza treat. And some Tuc biscuits too. Even Alya was enjoying the pizza minus the pepperoni .

Alhamdulillah. They are all fast asleep now.

Tomorrow is another babaless day...how i hate being mommy alone this week...how i wish we are in singapore with baba...

Lesson on life No.1

Amin. Amin .

Experience missed

Today Jan 2nd ,2013 is the first day of school for all schools in Malaysia .

My eldest Arissa would be in Standard Two if she were to school here.

However , something about what my friend wrote in her FB made me realized that I wont be going through that experience she got to make.

Wrapping new text books.

Yeah! I can remember how my mom helped me to wrap my school text books. That was when i wasn't able to do it on my own.

So, with my eldest, I did not get to do it for her as we were already living in Jakarta back in Dec31st 2011.  And there were no textbooks to be wrapped for there are no text books for her. Yeah! Schooling in an international school is not only a fun experience for Arissa but also totally different from what me and my husband had gone through when we were at her age.

If we were still staying here in Malaysia, I would be doing the wrapping ..Ops! I dont think it would be me honestly. It would definitely be my hubby! Some how i just know that it would be my hubby. Hahah!

Not that i will envy him . But he would be the best text book wrapper in the world..hahah

Hmmmm..wrapping school text books! I am missing it surely

End of Term1 Year3

Today is the last day for term 1 year 3.

Gosh! How time fly so fast  that i wonder have i make full use of the time i have ? Not only for the benefit of me but more important for the benefit and wellbeing of my children.

And i have been on my own without maid to help me for these past months ie since early October precisely.

My baby Alya have been my loyal companion since our last maid gone MIA. I can only pray to Him to make sure Alya is healthy . Its tiring for a 14 months old baby to follow her mom every where.

To school. To pasar moderan ie wet market. To Giant or Lotte mart. To school again. To the 'mpsj' to pay for abudeman. Every where la this baby has to follow me. I will be babywearing her ! Time to get a new one.

And each day from monday to friday, i will be rushing home after sending my two girls to school. Yeah! My 3 year and 4 months old girl has been in preschool since last August. And alhamdulillah. She is really looking forward and excited to go to school each day . In fact she will be sad if it is friday.

Ok.so why am i rushing back home? Well to make sure Alya have her morning nap. Actually by 8 am she will be sending out signals how sleepy she is. Those pulling hair, rubbing her eyes and yawning. And off she goes to la la land when i breastfeed her.

We all know how important it is for babies to have a routine each day. So for Alya, her nap can be from 8 am onwards until 1130 am. Of course she will wake up in between . Just to see if i am there next to her. Most of the time she will go back to sleep after i feed her again. Nice huh to sleep with a fulled tummy!

By 1145 am we ie Alya and mama dearest will be in on our way to school to pick up kak Aisyah. Her school ends at 12 am . Lunch is always at the Rainbow cafe. Big sister Kak Arissa will join us there as her lunch is from 1205 -1250 . Sometimes Aisyah gets to eat with her best friend Sara Mcleod. I just have to put her full name here coz it so old english name !!!

By 1 pm, we ie me ,Alya and Aisyah will head home which is only 5 minutes away from school. Once home, I will be rushing to have Aisyah bath, wash her snack box, and cook for dinner or pack my hubby dinner box before Alya start giving her nap signals!!!!

Most of the times, Aisyah will be sleepy by the time we reach home. So that is why i have to plan my time so that she can have her nap  before we have to leave our house by 215 pm to pick up big sister Kak Arissa from school.

So packed huh my daily monday to friday life right?

I pity my girls when i have to wake them up from their afternoon nap. There are good day and bad day too. Either Aisyah wakes up crying or just to sleepy to get up for having mama to interrupt her nap.

Arissa's class ends at 240 pm daily. But twice a week it will ends at 340 pm as she goes for her after school activities.

And we will be rushing to get home too. All because so that my supir will have enough time to reach girls' baba's office by 5 pm. In this land of macetness, we have to factor in the macetness in our daily life. Though the distant is only 25km from our house to my husband's office , but it can be a one and half hour journey or two hours journey!!!!! Only on Sunday you can have a 30 minutes journey ..

Back to my story after picking up my eldest. Once home, i either cook my second dish or only one main dish ie western dish . But all these will depends on how Alya is..If she is sleepy , then i will quickly bath her and feed her early dinner. Bath time is always together with Aisyah...easy but not so easy . Alya will be in her baby bath tub. Her tub is inside the big tub. So most of the time she will be trying to get out from her  tub and into the big tub. You will see her trying to bath her big sister who is just there in the big tub..this moments is priceless.  Both girls just enjoy each other company.

Next, all dress up in jammies. Arissa will be doing her homework which is only 3 sets in one week. Dinner have to be something easy to prepare. If not, i will have cooked it in the morning. All because Arissa will be asking for my help with her home work. And also i want to help her . These moments are more important than fixing dinner time...

And Aisyah will be asking me to read to her too..thus i need  time for this and not to be stucked in the kicthen preparing dinner. Not only that, Alya seems to eat more when i sit down and feed her.. Rather than having mama to feed her inbetween cooking!!! And even though arissa and aisyah can feed her, alya still prefers mama!!!

On dishes, there are days when i do quiche, baked pasta , grilling . Just imagine when i need to cook for breakfast and the kids' snack and lunch dishes too..not forgetting alya food too..which is why i am slowly exposing her to my main dish.  basically she is slowly eating the same food that i cook for her big sisters n baba too..

And that is how i end up my term1 year 3 life so far...

Me no superwoman. Just a normal woman who has to do what she has to do for the benefits of her children and family.

And yeah!!!! I will be sleeping in my own bed tomorrow night! Home sweet home malaysia!!!!

6th & 2nd Birthday

This fasting month is also a birthday month for Arissa & Aisyah..  15th of August  2005 and 7th of August 2009.

Aisyah was excited  when I told her that we were going to eat birthday cake that Monday night. Soon we heard her singing happy birthday ( in her own words) ..

Cake was chosen by Arissa. We dropped by at the cake house after picking Arissa up from her Enopi class.. I already though this cake will be picked by her as soon as i see the gummy sweets on it..

As usual, it  was  a simple but a sweet birthday celebration just for us..

Baba's girls

I have to say that my two lovely girls are baba's girls definitely.

At the moment my hubby is away on his business trip where the location is popular as one of Thailand's holiday destination. I just could not understand why his company can choose a popular holiday spot like for it's top management seminar...How i wish I could go!!!

Back to my point , my girls are missing their baba tremendously. Aisyah was already asking for her baby , wanting her baba to hold her in his arm, right after we dropped my hubby at the airport. And during the night, just as me & aisyah were lying on bed getting ready for sleep, she would asked where is her baba. And in the morning, the first thing Aisyah would asked me was where is her baba.

Same goes to Arissa. She would asked  me if she can call baba or send sms to his baba. Alhamdulillah, she got to talk her baba and how happy she was.. Another thing that i can sensed how Arissa is missing her baba company is her attitude. There will be moments when she is just clingy and sometimes feeling so sad ...

Which is why I too dont like it that much when my dearest hubby have to be away on his business trip.  Hubby likes  to play with them. Something that i am not good at.. Maybe fathers are like that.

With baba it is play time for the girls. It can be a rough one like father & sons. I called it like wwf wrestling. The girls can punch as hard as they can with their baba. They can even land themselves on top of  their baba. My hubby would always remind them not do this with me as their mama is not as strong as baba! Phew! They play rough like a boy ok!

Sometimes, just as Aisyah was about to doze off  at night, she can just be as fresh and alert the minute she sees her baba entering our bedroom. All of a sudden, a smile will light up at the corner of her tiny mouth. Soon she will be wanting to play with her baba who was just got back from work!

With Arissa, she will choose baba instead of me to put her to sleep. Eventhough I will stay with her first to put her to sleep, in the end, she will always ask for her baba to put her to sleep. hemmmm.. Sometimes how i pity my dearest hubby who is sometimes feeling so tired after coming back from office.  But he always put up with the girls demands... this i salute him most eventhough sometimes i wish he wouldn't.

hemmm..one more day to go..My girls' baba is coming home tomorrow...

My soon to be 6 years old girl

Is it only with my girl or all other girls her age are like that?

I left my 22 months old finger toothbrush at my parents' house . This happened when we went balik kampung yesterday. So I had to shop for a new finger toothbrush at lunch time today.

While looking for it at Isetan, my eldest girl called me. Asked me what was i doing. Thus I told her i was shopping for Aisyah's toothbrush as I have left the existing one at her wan's house.

Next she asked me what if it happens again .Meaning what if the same thing happens again with the new toothbrush. I said that it wont happened again. But again she said " But Mama, what if you forgot again ".

Now she got me all cornered up! Not able to think what is the best answer plus that i was in a hurry, I simply said " Then, I will have to buy another one "

It wasn't the best answer to a kid. As she will start to think that for everything that is left behind can be easily replaced... I hate being in that position.Wished hubby was there to help me...

Enopi

While i am writing down this entry, Arissa is attending her first Enopi class today. I truly hope she will have fun & that this Math class will help her on her maths skills.

Why Enopi & not Kumon? Simply because me & hubby believe that the critical thinking maths classes will be an advantage to her thinking process and benefit her in the future.

The Three Ladies in My Live

Who welcomes you back home after a long day at work everyday?

In my case it definitely will be my MIL, my 5 year old girl( come August 15th , 2011 she will be 6 years old ) and my  18 months old baby girl. And no matter how tired I am  feeling or  how I'm in no mood to chit chat long, I just know that I have to layan them.  By this I'm not implying negative meanings for I know talking to them is something I have to do each time  i come back from work.

Why? Because if I were in their shoes, I too would be like them. Imagine being at home for the whole day eventhough my MIL do sometimes go out with her ever loyal kaki-jalan cum cousin and that my eldest daughter goes to school in the morning. But  who will they get to talk about things that happened to them during the day when  me & hubby are out working ?None right.

Which is why i said earlier that i owe it to them to be that listening partner. And one thing that I notice is that how happy they are  whenever i show interest in them..Actually most of the time, i don't need to be the 1st person to initiate it.

So I will be hearing shouts of my names from my two lovely girls the minute I stand in front of our house gate waiting for them to open it for me. Or I hear it the when they see me walking towards them who will be standing in front of the gate while their granny is busy tending to her cactus.

And yes Aisyah can say mama! and with other words too!

Old Care Home

Some two weeks ago on my way to work, i heard on the radio about old parents being left & taken care at old folks home or rumah jagaan org tua...The saddest part was that they were abandon or neglected by their selfish children who does not want to take care of them . One simple reason that even me got to think of was how burdensome to take care of them... A reason that I simply can not accept. Can you?

And yes, I feel angry too to those selfish children who left their old parents at old folks home and did not even bother to come and visit them regularly .

But another part of me got me to think of the main reason that drives these people to do it in the first place. I don’t think all of us can just simply commit to an act just like that overnight. Something might have played a factor in it...

Suddenly all i can think of is upbringing. How each of us is brought up by our parents since the day one of our lives.

Imagine if we are brought up in family full of love and attention. This has to start from the day we are born. And throughout the entire course of our life from baby to toddler to teenager to adulthood, our parents were always there in our live. Always guiding us in a loving way , teaching us to be a good human being that know what is right and wrong.

I guess if all parents are like that, then maybe we would not see this syndrome of leaving parents at old folks home happening.

When there is not much love and strong feelings between parents and children, anything can come in between that relationship. There is this malay pepatah that says water is thicker than blood ( air dicincang takkan putus) which easily describe how family ties is like blood . No matter how many thousand times it you fight or quarrel with your family, in the end, the ties will always be reconnected.

But in order the ties to be strongly attached, love plays an important part in it. And if from the day one of our lives, we don’t feel loved by our parents , then how on earth for the ties to be strongly bonded.

So looking back on the main reason that may have been the factor on why these children left their old parents at old folks home , lack of love could be the answer.

Mama Cantik

There’s a small red new scar on my face. Between my upper left lip and nose. This I got from that tiny splash of hot sauce while I was trying to taste my cooking. That happened on Monday before fasting begins. So yeah, the red dot is very very obvious to those naked eyes.

However, my small conversation with my eldest daughter last night at the kitchen sink, was so touching and sweet.

Arissa: Mama, when did u get that ( pointing to my red dot scar on my face)? You got it last night kan?

Me: Not last night dear. I got it two nights ago.

Arissa: Oh ya…Ha ah..you were cooking kan Mama?

Me: Yep! I got it while cooking.

Arissa: Now Mama dah tak cantik.

Me : Tak cantik? ( Surprised with her statement ) That’s ok. Tak pe if mama tak cantik.I got it because I was cooking for you .So that’s ok with me dear. Most important thing, is that mama cook for all of us.

Arissa: Eh! Tak la.. Mama still cantik. Tau Mama?

Me : Ok.. Thank you Sayang.

So yeah. I was surprised when my daughter made that honest statement about my new scar. Of course no one can denied that a scar on the face can turned a person from pretty to not so pretty face anymore. But what touched my heart was how quickly she changed her statement as not to offend me. She even touched my hand while saying that.

I don’t know about other kids around her age. But my daughter is one alert, smart & sensitive soon-to-be 5 year old girl who can sweeten you anytime !

Sisterly Love

I can see how Aisyah just love being with her big sister Arissa. Of how happy her face will be just to see her big sister coming back from school each schooling days. Of how she laugh when her big sister tickles her body. And how she calls her big sister in her own baby language.

Of course Arissa loves her small baby sister wholeheartedly.I remember how Arissa always wanted to help change her baby sister's dirty diapers. And how Arissa always wanted to feed her baby sister solid food during each feeding time.

But there are times also when both fight for dearest mama attention. And when this happens, dearest mama will have her hands full of both of them. Arissa  would be sitting at oneside  of my lap while the Aisyah too would be eyeing for another lap to sit. And if Arissa is talking, then Aisyah too would be talking in her own baby languages.  Of course moments like this is rather handful too me. But these are precious moments that are not worth it to be nag as moments like this wont last forever. Thus dearest mama will try her best to handle those two A's.

When I looked and judged back on those things mentioned earlier, I must say that His plan for me and my hubby was the best plan  planned. There are 4 years gap between Arissa and Aisyah. Most people would say that it's a big gap . But when i analysed it back, the year gap is just nice.

The 4 years gap enable Arissa to show to her baby sister what big sister is all about. As Arissa is at an age where she can understand some logic behind certain stuff , she is able to appreciate her baby sister existance . This is based and done in her own way .  Should the gap be less than 4 years, I wouldn't think Arissa would be able to appreciate her baby sister existance . Let alone to express her love for her baby sister.

Which is why i honestly believe there's a reason why Aisyah was born 4 years after Arissa. Sometimes, we made a plan that we think is the best planned plan. But little did we realised that there are reasonable hidden reasons why our plan did not happened our way. I did look back and analised  the gap/ But it all make sense now when I see the love display between Arissa and Aisyah.  Suddenly the 4 years gap made sensible reasons that is easy to understand.

Sunday Feb 21st 2010

Tomorrow is Sunday. And what I have in  my mind at the moment is the list of housechores that I have to do . Mind you that my otherhalf aka my dearest handsome hubby will be out early morning for his run. Yeah, he was once a basketball player but never a rugby player like what so many people have thought of him. And now he is a runner . A marathon runner. Thus, he has one tmrw morning.

As for me, I need to clean up my dusty family hall upstairs, my  eldest daughter's dirty room and not forgetting my room too. Thank goodness, Aisyah will be look after by my mom's maid . My plan is to do all these cleaning in the morning. So that i can spend time with hubby once he is back from his marathon. So many things to be squeezed into Sunday.

I meant many things as I'm hoping to do a little bit of vege shopping for my Aisyah. Want to make for her spinach puree . Why spinach? Because children from age 6 months to 4 years need 15mg of iron daily. Spinach is one of iron rich food.

I can't believe that tomorrow is Sunday Feb 21st. And i have housechores to do. And that my baby girl is one lasak girl who toss and turn in a 360 degree motion when sleeping. There are times when her cute little feet got stuck at the bed rail. Or the time when she accidently hit her head to the bed rail too.

And that my Arissa is just too excited about my birthday that she didn't realize that she have leaked the secret plan which was plan by her baba and her. I find it so cute with her excitedness of keeping a secret that only she and her baba knows. She didn't tell me the whole plan .She only dropped a few words hinted of the secret plan that was carried out .

So tomorrow is Sunday Feb 21st. And i'm turning 35 . And that my SIL who lost her hubby 4 years back has lost her father on Thursday Feb 18th. I think year 2010 will be an uneasy year to be forgotten by me..

She who bit me

As much as I wanted to take her out to the park yesterday evening when I got back from work, I know I had to be firmed with her and not fallen prey to her crying.

I was talking to my maid and she was playing with my pregnant blouse tali. All of a sudden , Arissa bit one of my left fingers.. And it hurts.

I turned around and asked her why on earth that she do that.

She said that she wanted to untie the tali baju.

I slapped the lower part of her left leg twice and told her that it is wrong for her to bit me.

After that, i sat her down with me at the living room and said that as a punishment for her wrongful behaviour, I will not take her to the park. Upon hearing this statement, she let out a big dissappointment cry.
